July 18, 2026 - July Jenkins Jamboree
Help us make the July Jenkins Jamboree a success and save Garfield Church!
We believe that our history is amazing and deserves to be shared, protected, and preserved. On July 18, 2026, we will host the first in hopefully an annual event, July Jenkins Jamboree. It will be at Mariner's Cove Park in Enterprise and close to July Jenkins lived and the town of Garfield existed.
The purpose is not only to share our history and community, but to also raise awareness about the "Old Garfield Church". The church was built in 1890 by the residents of Garfield. It served as a school and house of worship for the faith-based community. The property the church is on today (1880 Enterprise-Osteen Rd) has been sold. We have no idea what the new property owners plan to do with the historic church. We are urging all Deltona residents to please join us in monitoring this situation so we can do everything possible to protect it.
